Life Spilled Like Water

IMG_1413One year ago, I turned 30 and decided to forgo all fears and begin to pen my heart on paper, to share stories from one broken life to another…and thus Life Spilled Like Water was born. I wasn’t convinced that anyone would read along, that my ability was certainly not enough to draw a crowd–and I was right. This year, this journey of opening up about the brokeness and beauty that God has allowed me to walk through, has shown me how much greater the power of these words are when they are formed by the Creator of each. Inviting God into this simple arrangement of words on a page, asking for His voice to guide my heart and His spirit to guide my hand is what drew each of you here. As we journey into Life Spilled Like Water’s second year, my hope and prayer is that we all, no matter what God-given task we are facing, would invite Christ in to do the work through us. As Bill Bright, founder of Cru, describes, “Christ does not want us to work for Him, He wants us to let him work in and through us.”

Whether it’s waking up one more time in the middle of the night to soothe the sick child and IMG_1416again the next morning to love on, care for and shepherd the hearts of our little ones, or showing up each day at the job you may not love to simply love on the people God’s placed in your path- invite God in. Whatever He’s called you to, how much more wondrous, how much more powerful, when He is the one guiding your steps,  forming your words, and moving your hands.

Of this I know to be true and is my sincere prayer for each of you…“may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.” Hebrews 13:21
