Perhaps your ears have been bending toward lies or your heart bending toward hurt. Perhaps your eyes have been bending toward fear or your mind bending toward doubt.
It’s morning and the sunlight pours through the glass pane over my kitchen sink.
Consider the daisies, Jesus whispers.
These blooms that my littlest daughter picked fresh had begun to wilt and bend back toward the earth. Yet after we refreshed the water and placed them in the sun they began to rise again.
Bend toward the sun and rise. Bend toward the Son. Rise.
You may still be a little wrinkled, a little bruised, a little broken. But those scars, when pointed up to the Son, receive light and renewed life.
And that wilted little flower, now illuminated by the light has become a light to all who pass her.
Bend your head and heart toward the Son. Be washed in the warmth of his Word. Be nourished by the glow of his presence.
Bend toward the Son and Rise.
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. Isaiah 60:1
