"Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him" 2 Samuel 14:14
It’s messy work, prepping a pumpkin to go from hard and bland to soft and sweet. It must be sliced open and the innermost parts scraped and wiped clean. And yet, even in the messiness of the slippery, interwoven, fibrous strands, lies the seeds. In the midst of what seems unredeemable there is opportunity for new life.
The most gut pulling, soul slicing, heart breaking open moments, are filled with both that which needs laid to rest and that which needs planted. These seasons of hard and dark and hurt are seasons where God is continuing to make us new. Reaping always begins with sowing and sowing when we’ve cultivated the heart. So stay steady dear ones— His promises are in the love of the planting, the peace in the waiting and the joy of the harvest. #lifespilledlikewater
